It all started with a well-too-familiar breakout.

In 2017, the founder and CEO of Hero Cosmetics, Ju Rhyu, faced an emergency that made her realize that her skin had reached its limit with harsh acne treatments. In search of a gentler solution, she discovered that hydrocolloid patches effectively reduced whitehead pimples without irritation, marking the birth of Hero Cosmetics. Fast forward to today, the brand is valued at over $150 million and is a leader in acne treatment.

It was time for Hero Cosmetics to build a presence in more markets, next on the list being Romania. The challenge? Make Hero Cosmetics not just visible but unforgettable. Our mission was to craft a powerful digital launch strategy, complete with a localized website, engaging advertising campaigns, dynamic social media content, and eye-catching in-store materials.

For the first digital campaign, we tailored Hero Cosmetics’ brand manifesto to resonate with the Romanian audience. We took their empowering messages such as embracing imperfections and reclaiming self-confidence and localized them to reflect the unique skincare challenges and habits in Romania.

Now that we captured everyone’s attention, it was time to let our digital strategy shine! We kicked off our social media strategy with a bang, partnering with local influencers to create buzz and drive engagement. The campaign’s hashtags quickly trended as influencers shared their skincare journeys with Hero products. To amplify the excitement, we launched Hero Cosmetics’ first-ever giveaway in Romania, offering fans a chance to win Hero Mighty Patch products and merch. The response was phenomenal – hundreds participated, sharing their stories and tagging friends.
